For instance, the seller traditionally covers the cost of both the sellerʼs agent and the buyerʼs agent. So if youʼre a buyer, working with an agent will most likely be 100% free for you! In that case, youʼd be crazy not to use an agent!
But what about sellers? Now, maybe you feel like you could tackle all of the tasks we covered by yourself and save the cost of hiring a real estate agent.
If thatʼs you, just remember, youʼd be one of the few—only 1 in 10 home sellers go the For Sale by Owner (FSBO) route. Part of the reason for this is because selling something as expensive as a house by yourself usually comes with a much greater hassle for a lot less money—Weʼre talking tens of thousands of dollars less!
Trust us! Paying for the help of an agent to sell your home is worth it.

Realtors are real estate agents who join a special membership of agents known as the National Association of Realtors (NAR). The NAR provides agents with tools and resources to grow their businesses.
Realtors are real estate agents, but not all real estate agents are Realtors. In other words, asking for a “Realtor” when you mean “Real estate agent” is a lot like asking for a “Kleenex” when you really mean “tissue.”
